Leadership Is A Hard Skill

The Leadership Experience curriculum was developed with the understanding that leadership is a hard skill, does not happen in a vacuum and needs to be practiced. The curriculum is developed to build understanding and skills across four main areas necessary for successful leaders. For each of the development domains below, attendees will be provided with the core frameworks, principles, techniques and practices to build knowledge and skill.

Leadership growth and development is part of a lifelong journey, and this program places an emphasis on the ethical, intellectual and physical elements that guide leaders to:

  • Increase their capacity for independent action in situations of uncertainty, stress and conflict
  • Increase their well-being by becoming independent of the wills, judgments and emotions of others
  • Increase their physical energy, mental energy and moral strength to embrace uncertainty and adversity
  • Build friendships and relationships based on admiration, trust, respect and loyalty

Just the Beginning

The two-day event in conjunction with MAPP is just the beginning of the 2019 Leadership Experience.
The Leadership Experience begins Wednesday, April 24 at 3:00 pm and concludes on Friday, April 26. Click here to view the full agenda

Curriculum

This two-day event in conjunction with MAPP is designed as the kickoff event to an intensive and immersive professional development opportunity for industry young professionals interested in growing their leadership skills. The 2019 Leadership Experience will give attendees firm and applicable leadership skills, allow meaningful networking and problem-solving and connect with industry mentors for long-lasting growth and development.

The 2019 Young Professionals Leadership Experience curriculum focuses on engagement, relationship building, cohesive and effective team building, and building and maintaining trust and confidence.

Personalized Leadership Development Plan

Attendees will leave with a personalized development plan that will allow individuals to continue to hone in and focus on the skills they need to work on most over the next 9 months.

Post-Event Accountability

The curriculum and learning will continue after the event ends. Attendees will attend two virtual sessions with course instructors and peers to continue to receive coaching, stay accountable to their development and continue to build and maintain strong relationships.

Program Structure - Leadership Fitness

The program structure is set to six, 90-minute, learning modules. Each module is modeled after a “pitch” in a mountaineering expedition. Each “pitch” builds on the other to produce a deepening and a heightening in the mind of the leader. Each module includes knowledge acquisition and practical application. Practical application means intellectual weightlifting, intellectual gymnastics, and intellectual exercises designed to make the leader’s moral and intellectual faculties sharp, discerning and developed.

Core Instructors:

ARPM has curated professional leadership trainers for this in-depth, in-person experience, including:
