Webinar: Static Deflection Testing of Automotive Rubber Bushings (Part 1)

Rubber automotive bushings have static deflection curves that can be measured in up to 6 axes depending upon the geometry. This presentation will:

  • show examples of test equipment used for measuring the static rate in each direction
  • go over examples on how to tool and configure bushings for servo-hydraulic type testing
  • review test input requests such as loading speed and pre-cycles 
  • touch on sample load vs deflection curves 
  • discuss stiffness Ks analysis methods 
  • show pre-cycles to remove the Mullins effect 
  • provide machine corrections for tooling stiffness
  • share strategies for measuring very stiff suspension bushings
