We are developing and producing rubber rollers for an application and have some questions on the appropriate process or specification should be identified on the drawing for companies that are performing the molding.
The component is a metal shaft that is has a molded rubber exterior surface. The rubber is MIL-PRF-6855, Class 2, Type B, Grade 70. We were trying to determine if there are any standards, procedures, or specifications to reference that companies should follow when molding the MIL-PRF-6855 material to the metal shaft. (i.e. a document/standard that identifies any thermal limits, cure times, mixing requirements, heating duration, surface prep, acceptance criteria, etc).
